Taco John’s Crushes Q1 with Big Wins

Q2 is already right around the corner, and we’re celebrating some big Q1 wins here at Taco John’s.

Ranking high in the Franchisee 500

Our list of Q1 accomplishments starts with Entrepreneur Magazine’s Annual Franchise 500 list. Each brand’s placement is determined by a variety of factors, including costs and fees, size and growth, support, brand strength, and financial strength and stability, and we couldn’t be happier to report that Taco John’s skyrocketed to #168 — that’s nearly 150 spots higher than we ranked last year! We also snagged the second-place spot for the Mexican food category.

“We are so proud of the year that Taco John’s had, and we are honored that the hard work and our brand growth has been reflected in our placement on the Entrepreneur 500 list,” said Brooks Speirs, our vice president for franchise development.

Making award-worthy deals

We also earned a spot on Franchise Times’ prestigious Dealmakers Awards list thanks to our deal with the Meritage Hospitality Group, where the group signed a 50-store development agreement with the option to purchase 150 more Taco John’s, the largest development deal in our 50-plus year history.

Leadership wins big

Our leadership team received a big boost mid-quarter when our CEO Jim Creel was ranked on the list of Most influential CEOs across the country by readers of Nation’s Restaurant News (NRN). Readers vote based on who they think is leading well within the restaurant industry, and we’re honored that NRN’s readers recognize the big moves our CEO has helped Taco John’s maneuver.
